Applying
Who can apply?
Anyone aged 18 or over, in any country, with academic or professional experience in law or medicine (including nursing, pharmacy, other clinical professions and the health sciences) who communicates clearly in written English. There are no country restrictions.
Do I need a licence, a degree or AI experience?
No. We hire on the quality of your assessment. A licence to practise helps, and some higher-rate projects require one, but it is not needed to be hired. Many trainers have never worked on AI before; the project guidelines explain everything specific to the work.
Which areas of law and medicine do you hire for?
All of them: litigation and evidence, contracts and commercial law, criminal, regulatory and public law, paralegal practice, clinical medicine and its specialties, nursing and advanced practice, pharmacy and pharmacology, public health and the biomedical sciences. Your assessment tells us where your expertise lies.
Is the work only about the US?
No. Many projects cover US law and US clinical practice, but others cover other jurisdictions and international guidelines. We match you to projects using the experience you give in your assessment.
Is there a fee to apply?
No. Applying, the assessment and working with us are always free. We will never ask you to pay for training, equipment or access to work.
Can I have more than one account?
No. Each person may hold one account. Duplicate accounts are closed, including any application attached to them.
Is there a deadline?
No. Hiring is continuous, and applications are reviewed in the order they are submitted.
The assessment
Which assessment should I take?
There are two: the Law Assessment (attorneys, law graduates and students, paralegals and law clerks) and the Medical Assessment (physicians, nurses, pharmacists, other clinicians and health scientists). Start with the one closest to your experience. You can take the other at any time, before or after your first decision.
Do I need to pass both?
No. Each assessment is reviewed on its own, and passing either one gets you hired. Each one you pass qualifies you for more projects.
How long does an assessment take?
Most candidates finish each one in 60 to 120 minutes. There is no timer.
What is in an assessment?
An unscored question about your experience, then three sections shown one step at a time. First, seven general questions: comparing and fact-checking AI responses, checking a response against rubric criteria and writing a prompt of your own, followed by a question about your most meaningful course. Second, a short conversation in which you challenge Claude Haiku 5.5 on a problem in that assessment's domain and draw out a meaningful error. Third, a couple of unscored questions about your background.
Do I need a Claude.ai account?
Yes, for Section 2. A free account is enough to use the Haiku 5.5 model, although free accounts can be throttled when demand is high. The assessment links to set-up instructions, including how to share your conversation.
Do I have to finish in one sitting?
No. Your answers save automatically a couple of seconds after you stop typing. Sign in on any device and you will find them exactly where you left them.
Can I use AI tools, search engines or help from others?
You may use search engines and credible published sources to fact-check. Apart from the model you are asked to challenge in Section 2, you may not use AI assistants, copied answers, or help from any other person. Submissions that show AI-generated or copied work are declined. See the Candidate Integrity Policy for details.
Can I change my answers after submitting?
No. Submitting locks your answers and sends them for review, so check everything before you submit. If a technical problem affected your submission, contact support and we can reopen it.
What do reviewers look for?
A genuine, well-explained model failure in Section 2; careful fact-checking; sound judgment of AI responses; an original prompt with checkable rubric criteria; and clear written English. How it works lists what each of these means.
How long until I get a decision?
Within 3 business days of submission. We email you the decision either way, and the confirmation you see when you submit gives the date to expect it.
What happens if an assessment does not pass?
You can retake that assessment 6 months after its decision, using the same account, and you can take the other assessment straight away. Your decision email gives the exact date.
Pay and payouts
How much does the work pay?
Every project pays at least $45 USD an hour. Projects that need a licence, a specialist qualification or senior experience pay more. You see a project's rate before you start work on it.
How often am I paid?
Twice a month, on the 1st and the 15th. Hours from the 26th to the 10th are paid on the 15th, and hours from the 11th to the 25th are paid on the 1st of the following month.
How do I receive my money?
Through major international payout services. When you are hired you add and confirm your payout account in your dashboard, and each payout is sent to your default account.
Are there fees?
ExpertTrainers charges nothing. Your payout service may apply its own receiving or currency conversion fees.
Is this employment?
No. Trainers are independent contractors. You choose your own hours, there is no minimum commitment, and you are responsible for any taxes that apply to you where you live.
The work
What will I be doing?
Checking AI answers on legal and clinical questions; comparing and ranking responses; writing challenging prompts and model answers; and catching invented citations, unsafe advice and outdated guidelines. The work page has examples.
How many hours can I work?
As many or as few as you like, subject to the tasks available on your projects. There is no minimum, so you can step back around trials, rotas and busy clinics.
How are projects assigned?
We match you to projects using the expertise and qualifications you give in each assessment and the availability in your professional profile. Keeping your profile up to date helps us find you more work.
Can I use real client or patient information?
Never. Use your knowledge, not your clients' or patients' information. Tasks use invented scenarios or publicly available sources such as published judgments, statutes and clinical guidelines.
What equipment do I need?
A laptop or desktop computer, a modern web browser, a reliable internet connection and access to the reference sources you would normally use.
Account and privacy
What do you do with my information?
We use it to assess your application, match you to projects and pay you. The Privacy Policy explains exactly what we collect, why, how long we keep it and your rights.
Are the demographic questions required?
Every demographic question offers "Prefer not to answer". Your answers are not shown to the reviewer who assesses your application.
I did not receive the verification email.
